Grounded in Style: My Current Rug Obsessions

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I have a deep love for rugs. They’re one of the most transformative design elements in any room—bringing warmth, grounding a space, and layering in character through texture, color, and pattern. A great rug is never just a background piece; it’s art for the floor.

Over the years, I’ve sourced from a wide range of vendors I truly love, many of which I’ve turned to time and again for client projects. Their work continues to inspire me with fresh designs, thoughtful craftsmanship, and timeless quality. While none of the rugs here are vintage, many are vintage-inspired, pulling from historical patterns, artisanal weaving traditions, and iconic design eras.

I pulled together these two mood boards of rugs I’m currently loving. Each has its own energy—some playful and graphic, others moody and textured—but all of them spark inspiration.

Board One

Leans bold and dynamic. Graphic patterns, layered geometrics, and artistic abstractions make these rugs statement-makers. They’d be incredible in spaces that need a pop of personality—living rooms, rec rooms, even bedrooms where you want that unexpected wow factor.

Board Two

Feels a little more textural and sculptural, with experimental shapes and organic influences. I love how some of these designs push the idea of what a rug can be—whether that’s a round piece that feels like modern art, or an abstract hand-tufted texture that almost reads as sculpture.

What unites both boards is a sense of play. Rugs don’t have to be safe or predictable—they can be the grounding element that makes a whole room come alive. And while I adore a classic, neutral foundation, I’m always drawn to pieces that bring that extra layer of artistry and story.

These are a few of my favorites right now, but my love for rugs is endless. I’ll always be hunting for designs that surprise me, connect me back to tradition, and ultimately make a space feel truly lived in and loved.
